Tenuta Colfiorito
Tenuta Colfiorito is situated few minutes far from Rome, in the Municipality of Castel Madama, at the exact place where a Roman villa stood two thousand years ago. From that ancient time it has preserved the tradition of making organic wine. Colfiorito Farm-is situated on the lower slopes of the Tiburtine Mountains at an average altitude of 400 metres above sea level. It begins just past Tivoli and opens out onto the Empolitana Valley. This is an ancient landscape, which remains uncontaminated by the proximity of Rome.

The story is clear and beautiful, in 1538, princess Margherita of Austria was on a royal visit to Rome, and she was invited to stay in the ‘Tenuta Col Fiorito’ as it’s a beautiful and natural countryside estate. During her stay she was served with a wonderful structured rose, the present Donna Margherita, and the story has it that ever since the estate has been producing the wine in the same way it was served to the princess. We always cheer to princess Margherita when drinking this wine from 1538 till date!
Produced with grapes from the “Vigna d’Olanda” vineyard of the Colfiorito estate.
